COLLINGWOOD - No one pointed out the irony the room they were in overlooked the Eddie Bush.

Nearly 100 people crammed into the third floor of the municipal building at Simcoe and St. Marie on Saturday morning to put their two cents worth into the discussion of a $34 million conceptual plan for a recreational facility at Central Park.

The plan would include a double ice pad, a 25-metre six-lane pool, and the creation of common space between the new arena and the existing YMCA and curling club.

If the plan does go ahead - the committee steering this process will present a final report to town council in January - it would likely spell the end of the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena; or, at least, the end of its use as a rink.
